‘Black Adam’ Merchandise Reveals Marwan Kenzari’s Villainous Sabbac

New merchandise for Black Adam includes promotional art that offers fans their best look yet at the film’s antagonist, Marwan Kenzari’s demonic Sabbac.
Black Adam introduces Dwayne Johnson to the DCEU as the titular antihero and long-time enemy of Shazam. The film will see him joining forces with the Justice Society of America and pit him against demonic villain Sabbac, played by Marwan Kenzari. The film’s first trailer offered no sign of Sabbac, but fans can get their best look yet at the villain in promo art included with McFarlane Toys’ 7-inch action figure based on the supervillain.
Sabbac is a demonic opposite to heroes Black Adam and Shazam. While both those characters call out the acronymous name “Shazam!” to summon their abilities, Sabbac calls his own name to tap into the powers of Hell, gaining the powers of Satan, Aym, Belial, Beelzebub, Asmodeus and Crateis.
In the comics, Sabbac takes on the form of a horned, red-skinned demon with a pentagram emblazoned on his chest. Black Adam‘s version of the character brings that comic-book look to life in terrifying fashion, with the pentagram carved into the villain’s skin. Check out the new images of Sabbac below:
Given how little has been seen of the villain and the fact the the film’s first trailer focuses on Black Adam’s interactions with the JSA, it is not yet clear what role Marwan Kenzari’s Sabbac will play in the film. However, if his appearance is any indication, he will surely be a terrifying foe for Dwayne Johnson’s Teth-Adam.
Here is the synopsis for Black Adam:
Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a script written by by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, the DCEU film stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.
