Taron Egerton Has Already Met With Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige

Kingsman star Taron Egerton talked about succeeding Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and it was also confirmed that he’s met with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
The future of the X-Men is the biggest mystery surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first details regarding Kevin Feige’s plans for the Mutants could finally come later this month as Marvel Studios returns to San Diego Comic-Con for the first time in three years. There’s been plenty of speculation on who could take on the Wolverine role after Hugh Jackman’s historic run, and Taron Egerton has been at the top of that list for a while.
Is Taron Egerton Marvel Studios’ Wolverine?
Taron Egerton has been eyed for Wolverine before as well with Matthew Vaughn’s version of X-Men: Days of Future Past. In a recent New York Times piece, it was confirmed that Egerton has already met with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige. The 32-year-old actor also touched on the fanfare surrounding him potentially playing Wolverine in the MCU:
“I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it. But hopefully if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”
Here is the synopsis for Kevin Feige’s Thor: Love and Thunder:
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
