“This s*** ain’t for me, so I’m Out.” Is Doja Done With Music?
Doja Cat, the legendary psychedelic music rap diva, took to Twitter to answer the massive backlash she received following the cancellation of her set at Paraguay’s Asunciónico festival due to flooding caused by inclement weather.
After receiving backlash from Paraguayan fans, the 26-year-old singer changed her Twitter handle to “I quit.” Following a cancelled concert, fans accused her of failing to engage with them outside her hotel. She stated that she was leaving the music industry.
The whole thing started when the singer began reacting to specific now-deleted comments that referred to her as the “public enemy number one.” “This sh—t ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care,” she said on her public platform.
Another upset fan tweeted that about 5 years ago, she started to achieve fame, all thanks to TikTok, “What happened to your humility queen? I loved you.”
Irritated Doja Cat responded, “It’s gone and I don’t give a f—k anymore. I f—kin quit. I can’t wait to f—king disappear and I don’t need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me. Music is dead and I’m a f—king fool for ever thinking I was made for this. This is a f—king nightmare, unfollow me.”
The level of backlash she received for cancelling a concert due to weather conditions beyond her control, and most likely to protect fans and herself as an artist, is absurd in and of itself.
