Xolo Maridueña cryptic post of Blue Beetle with Batgirl & Supergirl stirs Young Justice Speculation, Leslie Grace & Sasha Calle’s photo raises DCEU hope

Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña is a vital part of DC Film’s future and the newcomer is already raising speculations of a Young Justice team-up in the making with Leslie Grace’s Batgirl and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. This comes as Grace also sparked dissent among fans after sharing a cryptic photo that has some convinced there’s room for the new universe to exist alongside DCEU’s Snyderverse.

Maridueña recently shared a photo on his Instagram stories, a fan-edited image of Blue Beetle, Supergirl and Batgirl side-by-side with a bold text, ‘Young Justice’. The cryptic post rose speculation among some if this could be a hint for a Young Justice movie set in the DC Extended Universe. Raising more suspicions, Grace’s photo posing with Calle and the caption, “we saving all da universes… ya hurddd meh!” has fans theorizing it’s a hint to restoring the Snyderverse whilst the new-gen also exists. Since set photos of Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes donning the comic-accurate Blue Beetle suit surfaced – the actor’s upcoming debut has become a beacon of hope for many DCEU fans. Even so, the Batgirl film and Supergirl’s debut in The Flash divided the fandom as reports indicated it would erase or reboot Snyderverse, removing Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman from the equation. Nonetheless, WBD is yet to officially address its plans with the new boss David Zaslav currently overhauling the DC film brand.

With The Flash movie future in crisis thanks to Ezra Miller’s antics and no roadmap unveiled for upcoming DC titles, Warner Bros. Discovery’s DCEU is in a state of flux – still 2023 titles like Blue Beetle and Black Adam are the only ray of progress. While the Dwayne Johnson starring standalone heads into post-production, Mariduena is still shooting for his DC film project and speaking of, Susan Sarandon just revealed she finished filming her part. The actor plays the villain Victoria Kord.
